Top K-Pop Music Videos of 2024 Pt 2

The best music videos of July through September 2024.

JULY

(G)I-DLE kicked off summer with the addictive track “클락션 (Klaxon).” The song will make you want to hit the beach and dance with the members. (G)I-DLE cruises around California in a convertible with Soyeon driving. The old-school vibes at the beginning give the video a unique edge that pairs well with its summer theme.

Dreamcatcher’s “JUSTICE” is chilling. The lighting is used in so many different ways. There are glowing orbs with a member holding an orb that looks like it’s lighting up her face in a dark room. There's light coming through the window that is cold in some scenes and harsh in others. One of the members has a spotlight on her, and there is a flickering effect that focuses more on the dark than light.

Have you ever seen a boygroup so on fire that they burn a hole straight through their shoes? NCT 127’s “Walk” is full of fun transitions and effects as the members blow up everything around them and try to put out the fires on their shoes.

This long-awaited Stray Kids Marvel Cinematic Universe crossover brought everything that it was expected to and more. In “Chk Chk Boom,” these eight vandals take over New York City leaving their mark on every building.

BTOB’s SilverLight (Eunkwang) and HUTA (Minhyuk) made their subunit debut as 90TAN. The pair goes on a comedic heart-stealing heist where they run into security guards who they have to fight off in a dramatic slow-motion sequence.

AUGUST

GOT7’s BamBam commands an army in his “LAST PARADE.” He stands before them wearing red and black, in a uniform similar to that of the people he’s leading. The execution of the concept is very theatrical with lavish costumes and a slew of props. In chapter two, another BamBam is introduced as the leader of a rather ragtag-looking army, who wields a giant statue of their leader's head. In the third chapter, the two leaders battle each other.

A video doesn’t need to be flashy or have multiple sets to be considered good. Any unique elements can make a video stand out as a great piece of art. Big Ocean, South Korea’s first hard-of-hearing K-Pop group released their first collaboration song “SLOW” with Young K of DAY6. In the video, the three members sign the lyrics in Korean Sign Language (KSL) and American Sign Language (ASL).

fromis_9 showed off their visuals and choreography in numerous sets in the “Supersonic” video. The whole video is edited very well, with video effects coming in at the end in the form of water droplets. Water jets then burst behind the members, making for a great finale to the video.

Donning all-black outfits, NMIXX gives off an eerie vibe in “별별별 (See that?).” The video drifts between paranormal and fairytale with the members soaring through the air and running up buildings.

The film-themed “GOOD SO BAD” off of ZEROBASEONE’s Cinema Paradise depicts the members as actors in a movie. Each member is seen chasing after their love as instructed by the screenwriter.

SEPTEMBER

One of the most visually appealing music videos of the year is “TTYL” by Loossemble. The coloring and lighting give it a dreamy vibe that stands out from other videos.

HWASA takes over the streets of Paris for her song “NA.” It has a quirkier feel than some of her other songs, but it’s still distinctively HWASA.

Key critiques the use of AI in his music video “Pleasure Shop.” It has certain elements that are similar to his release “Good & Great,” but both have clear themes despite the similarities in aesthetics.

Kang Daniel plays an idol and set assistant in “Electric Shock.” The set assistant Kang Daniel has electricity in his body which causes him to get shocked and send electricity through the set.

YENA’s “네모네모” is possibly one of the cutest music videos ever made. YENA is surrounded by people who have boxes for heads including her love interest who keeps disappointing her. The video has videogame elements that make the visuals even cuter.
