K-Pop Music Videos Turning 10 in February

Take a trip down memory lane with these releases from February 2015.

Zion.T and Crush released “Just(그냥)” on February 1, 2015. This snowy black and white video is one of the most well-known collaborations Zion.T has been a part of. Later in the year, the two went on to win “Best Collaboration” at the 2015 Mnet Asian Music Awards.

VIXX’s “Love Equation” is a remake of 90’s hit “Farewell Formula” by R.ef. Throughout the video, each of the members finds their own ways to cope with heartbreak. In the end, they all have the most comfort in being with each other where they can dance together and have fun.

Amber Liu made her solo debut with “Shake That Brass” featuring Taeyeon of Girls’ Generation. Although many found the song hard to sit through, the song’s impact is undeniable with the music video being the most viewed K-Pop video in America during February 2015 according to Billboard. The video is comical, opening with Amber as the conductor of a band. The band features many popular celebrities of the time including Jackson Wang of GOT7, DPR Ian (formerly Rome of C-CLOWN), Hyoyeon of Girls’ Generation, and many more.

Another black and white release was “미쳐(Crazy)” by 4Minute. This iconic song and video is the group's first music video to hit 200 million views. It also scored them their first win on Show! Music Core, nearly six years into their career.

From the beat to the video, MYNAME’s “too very so MUCH (너무 very 막)” is 3rd generation excellence. At the start of the video, Jun.Q faints after locking eyes with a girl. The rest of the video takes place in Jun.Q’s mind where he imagines the five members trying to catch the girl.

Nearly a year after the original release, Apink released a Japanese version of their hit song “Mr. Chu.” The videos are very similar, with small differences such as the tennis court being purple rather than hot pink. Some scenes where members are not lip syncing were reused in the Japanese version. The release ranked No.2 on Japan’s Oricon Charts, even beating out Japanese girl groups.
