Throwback Thursday: Songs That Are So Good Live

After TXT (Tomorrow x Together) on Sunday, and P1Harmony on Monday, my voice is gone, my pockets are empty, but I am still smiling from ear to ear. While lying back and sorting through my videos and photos, I started to think, “Hm, there are some songs that are just so perfect live.” Seeing “Sad Song” and “Blue Hour” in person really solidified that thought in my head. So, let’s take it back and talk about some K-Pop songs that are just perfect for that live performance.

TXT (Tomorrow x Together) - “Blue Hour”

On October 26, 2020, in the midst of the pandemic, TXT released a masterpiece that lifted our spirits. Their EP, minisode1: Blue Hour, is filled with unforgettable songs like “We Lost The Summer,” “Wishlist,” and their unforgettable title track, “Blue Hour.” “Blue Hour” is an upbeat, joyous track with bright colors, energy, and lighthearted vibes. In this song, the members present so much energy and talent that you are instantly captivated once it starts. The members' vocals are out of this world, and the choreography is so impressive. In this song, we were introduced to one of the best dance breaks that exists, and witnessing it on Monday changed my life. With its high energy and overall happy vibe, “Blue Hour” is the perfect song to perform in front of an audience. The crowd was ecstatic, and MOAs could be heard singing the song word for word. It was the moment we had all been waiting for.

P1Harmony - “AYAYA”

On April 20, 2021, after a stellar debut, P1Harmony released their first comeback, Disharmony: Break Out - EP. Jam-packed with six songs, this mini-album has everything you could possibly ask for. They touch every genre, and you have fun while listening. One song that many think was created for the sole purpose of being performed is their B-side “AYAYA.” An upbeat, electrifying, danceable track, “AYAYA” is a thrilling song that brings out the energy in everyone in the crowd. With its techno and hip-hop beat, you can’t help but move to the beat, and watching the members hype up the crowd to dance along brings a smile to your face. Seeing this live for the second time made this an even more enjoyable experience. Jumping up and down, singing along to the lyrics, and just watching everyone have fun make it a moment in history you will never forget.

SEVENTEEN - “VERY NICE”

We couldn’t talk about songs that are perfect live and not talk about the one and only “VERY NICE.” On April 25, 2016, SEVENTEEN released their stacked album Love&Letter (Repackage Album). Filled with so many iconic, well-known songs by them, one in particular is a show-stopper every time it is performed—you can’t have a SEVENTEEN concert without it. “VERY NICE” is a ball of energy wrapped up in a breathtaking track, literally and figuratively. The vocals in “VERY NICE” are pristine, prominent, and jaw-dropping. Fitting such high falsettos and belts is so impressive, and you can’t help but cheer in excitement. If you ever get the opportunity to see SEVENTEEN live, prepare for the ongoing “VERY NICE” encore. It’s an exciting moment in this already amazing concert when we get to interact with the members and have the time of our lives.
