Jungkook surprised ARMY with a cover of “The Christmas Song,” shared on SoundCloud and accompanied by a video on YouTube—a discreet yet heartwarming release, perfectly in tune with the holiday spirit.
A MUSICAL STORY
Originally, "The Christmas Song" is a timeless classic, released in 1946 and made world-famous by jazz singer and pianist Nat King Cole. In 2020, American singer Johnny Stimson offered a modern and softer reinterpretation of the song.
It is this specific version by Johnny Stimson that Jungkook chose to cover, bringing his own vocal sensibility while respecting the song's intimate atmosphere.
A Voice Like a Gift
In this cover, Jungkook opts for simplicity–no artifice, but a calm, warm voice, often described by fans as comforting and soothing. Comments highlight a performance that resembles a vocal Christmas gift, intimate and sincere, true to the emotion the singer knows how to convey.
THE DETAIL THAT RESONATED WITH FANS
This release also shed light on a moment that had remained unresolved for many. During his last live stream, Jungkook repeatedly said "merry merry," a detail that brought smiles at the time, but which now takes on a whole new meaning. The laughter of the members, especially Jimin, and V's enthusiastic "Merry Christmas" confirm the spontaneous and heartfelt nature of the moment.
With the release of this Christmas cover, many fans now see it as a subtle nod, or even a teaser, slipped in without explicitly stating it.
Without any formal announcement, Jungkook continues to cultivate this direct connection with ARMY, where covers, live streams, and small details become powerful moments in their own right.
