Throwback Thursday: Weekly Idol 2x Speed Dance Challenge Part 2

If you were in a group, do you believe you can perform your song at 2x speed? I know I would be struggling. I would trip over my feet multiple times. While watching the 2x Speed Dance Challenge, you can’t help but think, “Wow, these people are talented.” In part one, we talked about some groups who took their already complicated choreography and performed it at 2x speed. Today, we will take it back and talk about more groups that prove their talent by performing their hits at 2x speed.

GOT7 - “Hard Carry”

On September 28, 2016, former JYP Entertainment mega boy group GOT7 appeared on Weekly Idol and did the 2x Speed Dance Challenge to their song “Hard Carry.” Now, if you know this song, you know how intricate the choreography is. The dance is filled with striking moves, intense arm movements, and a lot of moving on the ground. This song at 2x speed put the members to work. Watching the members dance to “Hard Carry” will make you tired. The way their arms swing in the air and they sway to the faster beat, will put you in shock. Even at 2x speed, the members still keep their energy high all the way to the end and give a funny and unforgettable experience to all that watch.

BLACKPINK - “BOOMBAYAH”

On November 16, 2016, iconic girl group BLACKPINK appeared on the show to promote their release at the time, “BOOMBAYAH.” We all know this song and how much fun it is. There are so many moments in their 2x Speed Dance Challenge that stand out and leave you stunned. For example, while dancing at 2x speed, we see member Jennie jump into the arms of her members without missing a beat, and Rosé sliding under her members’ legs is done with ease. The “BOOMBAYAH” choreography is intense, and BLACKPINK eats this up like they normally do. It’s such a fun video, and the girls do a great job.

Red Velvet - “Dumb Dumb”

On March 16, 2016, our quirky queens Red Velvet made an appearance on Weekly Idol while promoting their hit “Dumb Dumb.” This track is a banger, and the girls truly put their all into this 2x Speed Dance Challenge. The choreography for “Dumb Dumb” is already fast and hard-hitting, and at 2x speed, the girls are basically running. The way the girls get into formation shows that even sped up, the choreography is engraved in their heads. This video also brings a smile to your face. Watching the girls freak out and laugh while dancing will also make you laugh along with them. It’s a good video that will bring a smile to your face and show how talented the Red Velvet members are.
