Best of March 2025
March might be 2025’s strongest month of comebacks so far with so many great tracks having been dished out this month. From solo debuts, to group comebacks, the music this month has been excellent, delivering different sounds for everyone to enjoy. Here are some of my favorites.
“Filter” - JENNIE
Each track on JENNIE’s debut solo album Ruby delivers fierce female energy, making it one of the strongest solo debuts in my eyes. The album is full of 15 great tracks, some of which feature some incredible artists such as Dua Lipa, Doechii, Childish Gambino, and Kali Ulchis, but it is the twelfth track “Filter” that stands out as my favorite B-side. In the best way possible, this track gives me Eurovision vibes with its tempo switch-ups and instrumentation changes, combining sultry R&B with hip-hop and electro-pop elements. The backtrack’s contrasting components sound like they shouldn't work together but they do, giving “Filter” a unique output.
“Diamond” - Xdinary Heroes
Arguably Xdinary Heroes’s best mini-album yet, Beautiful Mind delivers a stack load of incredible tracks that showcase the band’s versatility, maturity, and impressive musicality, and it ultimately makes choosing a favorite B-side an incredibly difficult choice. However, after having the album on repeat this past week, the fourth track “Diamond” has become my favorite B-side. The vocal delivery and instrumental arrangement in “Diamond” carry a lot of raw emotion that makes me feel quite melancholic with lyrics that depict finding their self-worth when being torn down. It's a bittersweet track but one that makes you fall deeper in love with Xdinary Heroes’s music.
“Rock and Roll” - The BOYZ
From their third full-length album, Unexpected, the sixth track “Rock and Roll” stands out as my favorite track. Contrasting its title, “Rock and Roll” emits old school R&B vibes with its arrangement, using sensual R&B beats with a melodic Latin guitar to deliver an addictive and mature sound for The Boyz. With this, “Rock and Roll” highlights the members' soft, sensual vocals, leaving you craving more from them with this particular sound.
