Billlie’s main rappers have created the group’s first sub-unit, MOON SUA X SIYOON. On April 7, the duo released their first single in collaboration with rapper sokodomo, “SNAP (feat. sokodomo).” This digital single leans into a girl crush concept in contrast to Billlie’s usual whimsical concept. Moon Sua and Siyoon initially debuted in Billlie on November 10, 2021.

  2. “SNAP (feat. sokodomo) (English Ver.)”

As expected, “SNAP (feat. sokodomo)” is a rap-heavy song. Its hip-hop beat with a fluctuating bassline gives the song a gritty feeling. This metallic, dark sound accompanies lyrics about MOON SUA X SIYOON’s cool and strong demeanor. These words demonstrate their tenacious drive to keep fighting for what they want: in other words, they snapped. The music video translates this message into a literal fight, where MOON SUA X SIYOON slash their way to victory with fencing swords.

sokodomo joins in the song briefly with a short verse; the different tones of the three rappers diversifies the song as its sound remains mostly the same throughout. Siyoon’s interlude following sokodomo’s verse transitions into a slower, mellow pace before returning to 170 BPM.

Since “SNAP (feat. sokodomo)” contains mostly English lyrics, a separate English version sounds similar. Billlie last experimented with English versions for “DANG! (hocus pocus)” and “BYOB (bring your own best friend)” in 2023. All in all, MOON SUA X SIYOON’s debut delivers a hard-hitting single with a complementary feature. MOON SUA X SIYOON has expanded on different concepts apart from Billlie’s discography.
