Getting Hyped To j-hope’s New Single, “Killin’ It Girl”

After a stellar release earlier this year, BTS member and soloist j-hope dropped his very addictive and hype track, “Killin’ It Girl.” With a groovy '90s beat, the song will have you ready to move your head along to the music. j-hope is amazing at incorporating that '90s hip-hop sound and creating a track that many won't forget.

“Killin’ It Girl” is entirely in English. Featuring the talented American rapper GloRilla, this track is jam-packed with lyrics you can’t help but sing along to. During the chorus, the lyrics, “You killin’ it girl,” play on repeat. With a lower range, the track has a more sensual sound. While in that lower range, you can hear him harmonizing with himself. In the background, you can hear a more falsetto note being sung, which adds a lighthearted vibe to the song. We all know what an amazing flow j-hope has, and in this song, he does not disappoint. While he is still rapping, the lyrics are performed as if he is singing.

GloRilla delivers the next verse, and in her true fashion, it is striking and hard-hitting. With lyrics like, “Keep my foot up on their necks and my heels high,” and “Now sit back and pay attention and let me show you how to slay,” you can’t help but feel like you can conquer the day. This duo is a combination we didn’t know we needed, but now that we do, we are loving every second of it.

The second song on the album is the same track, “Killin’ It Girl,” except it’s j-hope in this verse. During the part where GloRilla would be rapping her part, there is now a verse with just j-hope. Still in that singing/rapping tone, j-hope delivers a verse that many are going to sing along to.

The music video is very artistic. Starting in black and white, j-hope is seen walking the streets with dancers. It was a great touch to the video having a scene of him driving the taxi and seeing himself in the back seat. When he hits his head, we see the video in color. The dancers come in and join j-hope, giving a powerful yet smooth dance that we will definitely see covers of in the future.

Killin’ It Girl - Single is a fun comeback, and it is a comeback that we will love forever. So, go and check out “Killin’ It Girl.
