Throwback Thursday: Baekhyun Edition

After a stellar show at the Prudential Center, it felt only right to talk about Baekhyun and the amazing music he has released. Getting his start in 2012 with the iconic boy group EXO, Baekhyun has released solo tracks throughout the years. His music is a mixture of R&B and pop and he combines the two genres perfectly to create unforgettable music. So, let’s take it back and talk about some Baekhyun tracks that truly shaped a nation.
“Bambi” - Bambi -The 3rd Mini Album - EP
On March 30, 2021, Baekhyun released his EP Bambi - The 3rd Mini Album and wow, that EP is amazing. On that EP is his well-known track “Bambi.” With a sultry R&B sound and a smooth jazz influence, “Bambi” is a classic and will have you ready to grab your microphone. Baekhyun is a phenomenal singer and in this song, he belts strong high notes and performs memorable runs. This is a song that you can’t help but sing along to. During the show, the entire audience was singing along with Baekhyun. Being able to hear that bridge and final chorus live is a moment engraved in history. Every run, belt, and dance move was copied and it was an experience one will never forget.
“UN Village” - City Lights - The 1st Mini Album - EP
On July 10, 2019, Baekhyun released his first EP, City Lights - The 1st Mini Album. With a mixture of R&B, funk, and pop, this mini-album had it all. The title track, “UN Village,” is a fusion of that sultry R&B Baekhyun is known for and funk. This is a track that you can listen to on repeat. The snare drum, the bass, and smooth vocals honestly make this such a relaxing track. When this song came on during the show many were on their feet singing along to the iconic track, me included. It’s such a good song and truly shows the range of Baekhyun's vocals.
“Candy” - Delight - The 2nd Mini Album
On May 25, 2020, Baekhyun’s second album Delight - The 2nd Mini Album dropped and changed the world. Dropping the perfect summer track, the title track “Candy” is an upbeat, danceable masterpiece. This track will have you up on your feet dancing along to the striking choreography. This song is the definition of fun, and while being a bright, bubbly song, Baekhyun doesn’t hesitate to give the listeners those powerful vocals he is known for. “Candy” is a favorite of many and during the show, everyone was on their feet screaming along to the lyrics. This song is perfect for long road trips, parties you have planned, or just a jam session in your room. It was so much fun live and I would love to see it again.
