AMPERS&ONE comes back swinging in Loud & Proud, a beat-driven, flashy, six-track EP that packs a punch.
FNC Entertainment’s AMPERS&ONE’s August 12 release Loud & Proud is just that: a pushy in-your-face hip-hop-pop EP that’s a new look for the now almost two-year group. Members Kamden, Brian, Jiho, Siyun, Kyrell, Mackiah, and Seungmo shifted away from their romantic, boyish selves to an edgier look in title track “That’s That.” “That’s That” features a saxophone hook chorus and nonchalant lyrics that pay the haters no mind—and that’s that!
Tracklist:
That’s That
Seesaw
Get Famous
Move Out
Did It
I’m Down
With Kamden and Mackiah participating in lyric-writing across the EP, each track brings distinct flair and a charismatic swagger that matches the in-your-face declaration of a title like “Loud & Proud.” The “That’s That” music video combines clever 2D animation with tricky editing and a punchy, winding network of fire escapes. The animation blends in cleverly, giving the music video a comic-book twist.
Across the EP, sharp instrumentals gel with the members’ blended vocals: if it’s not the saxophone in “That’s That,” it’s the flute riffs in “Seesaw” or the electro-clangs of “Did It.” Track “I’m Down” combines Latin elements with a chanty chorus and a frantic, pounding beat. “Get Famous” is built for any workout playlist with a catchy chorus and eager hunger to grow. “Move Out” never drops the ball, in its own words: “blowing speakers, blowing your mind.” The EP never stops throwing punches. Each track is as bold as its predecessor, carrying the torch with another trap or hip-hop derived hit. Clocking in at 17 minutes in length, LOUD & PROUD offers a fresh, bold listen for AMPERS&ONE, a group seizing their own, latest concept with both hands.
