Four years after their No Limit tour, MONSTA X makes their return to New York City. The crowd was energized to be at the second stop on [THE X: NEXUS] tour, celebrating a new chapter with the release of their third English album Unfold and numerous solo projects. From high-energy hits to remarkable solo stages, MONSTA X delivered a night filled with fun and unforgettable moments for MONBEBE.
The Solo Stages
Over the years, MONSTA X has explored various genres from EDM to hip-hop to R&B. The solo portion of the show detailed how each member’s individual styles make up the group. Shownu performed his song “Around & Go” while Hyungwon performed “NO AIR,” both dark and sultry hits that led into their unit stage “Breathe.” Kihyun got groovy with his most recent release “Howling,” a funky B-side from his second EP. Minhyuk showed a more intimate side of himself with his single “Reaching.” A love letter to MONBEBE, the heartfelt ballad spotlighted his soft vocals and guitar playing skills. Joohoney capped off the solo stage portion with electric performances of “Sting” and “Touch the sky.” There was not a second where the crowd was not on their feet and singing along. Their distinctive individual flair is what brings MONSTA X together to create their signature sound.
MONBEBE Show Love to I.M
Despite his current enlistment in the military, I.M’s presence was strongly felt throughout the entire night. MONBEBE cheered when his verses played with support from Joohoney, Hyungwon, and Minhyuk covering some of his lines. I.M’s prerecorded solo stage was also shown prior to the solo and unit portion of the show, a testament to the group’s long-standing solidarity. Even the members couldn’t help but laugh at Minhyuk’s playful impersonation of I.M. It’s without a doubt that MONBEBE can’t wait to shower I.M with love when MONSTA X returns as a full group.
NYC Wishes Joohoney a Happy Birthday
This event fell on Joohoney’s birthday and MONBEBE wasted no time in letting the festivities begin. Ahead of the show, fans passed out birthday banners and photos to hold up during the concert. From serenading him with “Happy Birthday” during his introduction to creating a touching fan video that was displayed near the end of the show, this concert was just as much a celebration of Joohoney as it was a joyful reunion for MONSTA X and New York City MONBEBE.
As the lights dimmed and the final encore ended, MONSTA X proved once again why their connection with fans remains unmatched. [THE X : NEXUS] in New York City was a powerful testament to the group's growth and artistic individuality. This night stood out as a fitting culmination of more than a decade of music while signaling an exciting future ahead.
