Throwback Thursday: Iconic Intros Part 2

There is always that one song that once you hear the intro, you are already hyped. The intro is iconic, from one note you already know that song it is, you are on your feet, and ready to sing and dance to the track. There are plenty of those in K-Pop, and today, we are going to take it back to talk about some iconic intros. 

SHINee - “Ring Ding Dong” 

There’s no way we can talk about iconic intros without mentioning this one. This intro is so iconic that it only takes one word to activate everybody's memories: “Baby.” On October 14, 2009, SM Entertainment's well-known boy group SHINee released their upbeat EP, 2009, Year Of Us, a striking EP with six amazing songs, including one of their most famous. “Ring Ding Dong” is an energetic song that grabs your attention from the first word. The moment member Jonghyun hits us with that iconic “Baby,” you are instantly locked in and ready to sing along. “Ring Ding Dong” is such a fun song and tends to hype up any listener. 

GOT7 - “Just right” 

On July 13, 2015, former JYP Entertainment iconic boy group GOT7 released their bright, colorful, and fun EP, Just Right. A heartwarming EP with six songs, it features many iconic and well-known tracks from the boys—one being their fun title track “Just right.” The moment the song starts, and you hear that synth, upbeat beat, you already know what song is playing. Then you hear that intro line, “Baby, you are just. Just right,” and you are ready to sing along to the rest of the song. “Just right” is not only a fun song to sing but also a very uplifting track. It’s a song about loving yourself for who you are, and how you are just right. It’s an amusing song that keeps you energized from start to finish. 

aespa - “Savage” 

“Oh my gosh. Don’t you know I’m a savage?” That intro alone awakens something in you, and you are ready to give your best performance. On October 5, 2021, aespa released their striking EP, Savage - The 1st Mini Album. From a mini-album that houses so many iconic aespa songs, one that many know and love is the title track “Savage.” A track with an enticing synth/electrifying beat that focuses on aespa's futuristic concept, “Savage” is a commanding track that demands your attention from Winter's opening line. “Savage” is a well-known track by the girls, and when it starts, everybody is ready to do the choreography. aespa always makes such entertaining music and knows how to grab your attention in the first five seconds.
