Best of April 2026

April 2026 was another incredible month for comebacks and new releases this year, with so much new music from some of our favorite groups and some of our favorite solo artists. With so much to listen to and enjoy this April, here are some of my favorite B-sides from all that was released last month.

“this!” - MONSTA X

April 3 saw MONSTA X make a comeback with their third English-language album, Unfold.  Among the 10 song tracklist sits some of MONSTA X's best singles to date, with the sensual R&B sounds of track number four, "this!," immediately becoming my favorite. When it comes to R&B, MONSTA X have always had an exceptional way with words and rhythm, with them making you feel their passion and emotion through the arrangement of the song. "this!" is one of those songs to captivate listeners in that moment, with the members' tender vocals singing from a place of desire and attraction against the heated, late night aspects of the track’s melody.

“Hurt So Good” - Xdinary Heroes

In their latest EP DEAD AND, Xdinary Heroes lean into the sounds of industrial rock, building a strong and intricate single in the form of "Hurt So Good." As mentioned in my review for DEAD AND, "Hurt So Good" feels audibly and lyrically darker and more mature, adding an edge to the EP that continues to experiment with its genres. With its tense yet unique backdrop that works exceptionally with the members' distinct vocals, “Hurt So Good” becomes one of Xdinary Heroes’s strongest tracks that has remained on repeat for me since its release.

“So What” - Tomorrow X Together

Tomorrow X Together (TXT) dropped a brand new EP on April 13, titled 7TH YEAR: A Moment of Stillness in the Thorns, consisting of six songs that each feel different yet distinct to the group and its members. Having listened non-stop to Yeonjun'sdebut solo album, NO LABELS: PART 01 back in November, “So What,” the fourth track on TXT's latest EP, gives me NO LABELS: PART 01 vibes, particularly in the verses with the song holding a laidback, hip-hop sound that immediately made it my favorite track. With a cool vocal blend in each chorus, the members tackle themes of uncertainty, pressure, and doubt with direct, candid lyrics that add to the song's charm, as well as an incredibly catchy chorus whose lyrics play like a welcoming piece of affirmation in self-belief.
