K-Pop Club Vibes Part.1

The K-Pop industry covers a wide range of musical styles and genres, allowing listeners to feel a different mood or emotion depending on the track. Sometimes we want to feel happy, have a cry, or be empowered by the music. Other times, we just want to dance and feel a wave of euphoria through the powerful beats and rhythms of an uptempo song. If that is how you want to feel then the following K-Pop B-side tracks in this article will have you transported to the club and dancing the night away with their hard-hitting beats and highly infectious energy.
“Body Movin” - BM
Although not strictly K-Pop, in 2021, BM released a triple single album titled THE FIRST STATEMENT, where each song takes listeners through three different club environments, starting with the rap-pop-rock “BROKEN ME (Korean Version),” followed by the hip-hop-heavy “13IVI,” before ending the night with the sensual sounds of the deep-house “Body Movin” that certainly has our body moving along to its beat. In “Body Movin,” BM approaches the track with both a soft, enticing, vocal flow and a gripping rap vocal, interchanging between the two across each verse and the chorus, making you want to dance and soak up the flirtatious lyrics and alluring beat, and also making it an essential addition to any K-Pop club night setlist.
“Do What I Want” - MONSTA X
Last year, MONSTA X continued to push musical boundaries in their 13th EP The X with the energetic pre-release single “Do What I Want.” Incorporating Brazilian funk into its hip-hop centered arrangement, “Do What I Want” becomes an addictively eccentric musical fusion that works perfectly for MONSTA X's brand, with striking vocals and rap sections from each member and a chaotically fun music video to accompany its unique sound. Here, the song enters a Y2K vibe through the music video visuals and camera style and effects, with some scenes seeing the members appearing shirtless complete with horns upon their foreheads and sharp-pointed ears, along with other visuals that complement the song's chaotic nature.
“NO1 (HONGJOONG)” - ATEEz
ATEEZ leader (or Captain, as known to some) Hongjoong set sail with his solo track “NO1” in GOLDEN HOUR : Part 3 ‘In Your Fantasy Edition.’ Driven by vibrant jersey club beats alongside bold techno and EDM patterns, Hongjoong delivers an ideal rave track for the club with “NO1.” Different from the music heard within ATEEZ's discography, “NO1” paints a different color through Hongjoong's solo style, adding new musical tones and textures to his sound that ATINY (ATEEZ's fandom) can discover (along with the other solo tracks from each ATEEZ member on the album). Simultaneously, the song carries the same charismatic rap flow that ATINY are familiar with from Hongjoong in his group material, becoming an addictive club anthem that both K-Pop fans and those with a preference for techno and EDM music outside of K-Pop can enjoy.
