August 2026 was a solid month of comebacks this year, especially for some of our favorite boy groups. Many of these groups returned with strong new releases, immediately giving themselves a spot on all of our K-Pop playlists, ready to listen to on repeat. With so many new songs to discover, here are some of my favorites.

“Bad For You” - ENHYPEN

ENHYPEN blew me away with their vocal fluidity and melodious sounds in their latest album, THE SIN : BLISS, particularly in the third track "Bad For You." A pop-R&B ballad, driven by smooth old-school tones and romantic sentiments within its lyrics, "Bad For You" expresses the intense emotions of a relationship, showing how much love they continue to have for their partner regardless of the challenges and struggles they may have faced. With this, “Bad For You” carries a classic boyband sound, combining rich harmonies with tender emotion, creating a compelling track for both ENGENE (ENHYPEN's fandom), and casual listeners, to be “bad for.” 

“REAL FROM THE FAKE” - SF9

SF9 is a group that continues to release hit after hit regardless of genre, being a group who deserves more credit and acknowledgment amongst K-Pop discourse. Their music holds strong lyricism and gripping arrangements that keep the listener engaged with the penultimate track, “REAL FROM THE FAKE,” from their second full-length album, TENACITY, being one of those songs for me. With writing credits from members Hwi Young and Chani, “REAL FROM THE FAKE” diverts the album away from the upbeat notions of the tracklist before it, taking TENACITY down a moodier path, with a serving of smooth yet edgy vocal tones and a rich R&B presence, becoming a standout track for SF9's new era. 

“127 Million Miles” - NCT 127

As a casual listener of NCT 127, who's more familiar with their highly energetic and upbeat tracks, the eighth song, "127 Million Miles," from their latest album, Blingy, instantly captured my attention. A piano-led, rock-pop number, “127 Million Miles” centers on sentiment and emotion with the added vocals of Doyoung and Jungwoo (who are currently away fulfilling their mandatory military duties) evoking a wider, heartfelt reaction from beloved NCTzens (NCT's fandom) when listening to the song. The melody and sound behind “127 Million Miles” feels inspired by the groups and K-Pop songs of the early 2000s, releasing traditional, nostalgic tones of pure musical comfort as gentle vocals, warm synths, and piano notes guide the touching track.
