Rising singer-songwriter ANDREAH celebrated for her dynamic blend of Irish and Filipino musical influences, returned with "My People," a heartfelt exploration of the challenges and joys in forging deep connections. At just 22 years old, ANDREAH has become a prominent figure in the music industry, captivating audiences worldwide with her powerful voice and evocative songwriting.
"My People," set against a backdrop of soulful pop melodies, reflects ANDREAH's personal journey of constant movement and the quest to find meaningful connections. The track, with a mood oscillating between wholesome, feel-good vibes and a touch of melancholy, provides listeners with a glimpse into ANDREAH's experiences of navigating through different cities and cultures.
The talented singer shares insights into the inspiration behind "My People," stating, "I was in LA last year and did a co-writing session with Justin Stanley and Aijia. It was my first co-write, and I was pretty nervous. Aijia asked me to think about something I wanted to write about that wasn't centered on relationships. That's when the idea of a song about always moving and not having enough time to 'find my people' emerged."
The collaborative energy during the co-writing session was electric, as ANDREAH, Aijia, and producer Justin Stanley found common ground both lyrically and melodically. The result is a compelling track that resonates with anyone who has experienced the challenge of building deep, lasting connections in a world marked by constant change.
The poignant quote, "All I'm tryna do is find my people," encapsulates the essence of the song and draws inspiration from ANDREAH's own desire for enduring friendships. Reflecting on the quote, she draws parallels to her favorite Grey's Anatomy quote: "You will always be my person." For ANDREAH, this echoes a profound longing for the kind of friendship that transcends distance and time.
Before the pandemic, ANDREAH has opened for immense names in music including Sam Smith, The Script, Air Supply, 911, The Hara, Roadtrip, Matt Maltese, Lukas Graham, and Westlife. She has also performed at several festivals, including: Neon Lights in Singapore, Party in the Park in Dubai, London Barrio Fiesta, and Its A Girl Thing in Manila.
As ANDREAH continues to carve her path in the industry, "My People" promises to be a standout moment in her burgeoning career.
