XG Debuts at Coachella 2025 as the Sole Japanese Artist
The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival 2025, one of the biggest music festivals in the U.S., has announced its lineup, featuring the girl group XG among headliners like Travis Scott, Lady Gaga, Green Day, Post Malone, Missy Elliott, Charli XCX, and Megan Thee Stallion.
The festival will be held in the Coachella Valley desert in Indio, California, over two weekends: April 11–13 and April 18–20. XG will perform on April 13 and 20, making them the only Japanese artist on the lineup.
XG is achieving significant milestones, with their single “HOWLING” trending on YouTube in 10 countries and reaching No.8 on the U.S. Billboard Rap Digital Song Sales Chart. This success follows a successful North American leg of their XG 1st WORLD TOUR: The First HOWL, which drew 120,000 fans in Asia and 50,000 in North America, and they are currently performing in six European cities, including Manchester, London, Berlin, Paris, Brussels, and Amsterdam.
Comprising seven members—JURIN, CHISA, HINATA, HARVEY, JURIA, MAYA, and COCONA—XG debuted in March 2022 with "Tippy Toes." They made waves globally, becoming the first Japanese artists to top the Billboard Hot Trending Songs Powered by Twitter Chart and appearing on the cover of Billboard as the first Japanese girl group to do so, also performing at major festivals like Head In The Clouds.
On November 8, XG released their second mini-album AWE, which debuted at No. 3 on the Oricon Weekly Album Ranking and Billboard Japan’s Hot Albums chart. It reached No. 12 on the Apple Music Worldwide Album Chart and charted in 48 countries on Apple Music's Top 200 Albums, solidifying their reputation as a rising global phenomenon.
