Throwback Thursday: Best of Female Artists 2018

We are almost to the end of the year! There have been many great releases throughout the year, and we are spoiled with a wealth of new music from artists. For this Throwback Thursday, we are looking back to some of the best releases from girl groups in 2018!

“Bboom Bboom” - MOMOLAND

When talking about viral songs, one of the first that comes to mind has to be MOMOLAND’s “Bboom Bboom.” You cannot deny the power that this song had, thanks to its catchy and addictive beat and chorus. You could say that “Bboom Bboom” really put this girl group on the map and brought them out of being an underrated group to one that will be the next big girl group to pay attention to in 2019. Who else gets this song stuck in their head as soon as it comes on?

“DDU-DU DD-DU” - BLACKPINK

After waiting such a long time, BLACKPINK has finally made their return in 2018! Despite not having a comeback for almost a year, it was expected that they would come out with something hard, in-your-face, and glamorous. Not to mention, this was also the first time that BLACKPINK has released an actual mini-album. Instead of having one or two songs released once in awhile, there were four brand new songs for fans to enjoy.

“HANN (Alone)” - (G)I-DLE

When talking about rookie girl groups, (G)I-DLE is definitely one of those girl groups that everyone can’t stop talking about. “HANN (Alone)” is one of those songs you have to put on if you need a particular boost in mood and some motivation, despite it being a breakup song.  There is a dark and chilling vibe to the song that draws you in as you listen, and you can’t help but want more. This girl group definitely has the girl crush concept down pat and is a rookie group to pay attention to in the coming new year.

“favOrite” - LOONA

After much anticipation from pre-debut releases, LOONA has finally made their debut this year! After debuting a new member each month, we finally have the whole group together. LOONA’s “favOrite” is a song that is a great introduction to this girl group if you had not paid much attention to the early releases. Keeping it simple with their music video, you really get the opportunity to see the girl group’s chemistry in vocals and dance. Not to mention, “favOrite” is such a catchy song, you can’t resist putting it on replay. Expect big things from this girl group in 2019 as well!
