Throwback Thursday: Best Of BIGBANG
With recent news of the members of veteran K-Pop boy group BIGBANG releasing their final (until after hiatus) single due to the members enlisting into the military, it is definitely going to be odd no longer seeing the group around for the next couple of years. For this week’s Throwback Thursday, we are going to look at some of the best from BIGBANG. As this group has over 10 years of experience under their belt, they have released a multitude of songs and albums; we cannot cover them all, but we can definitely highlight some of the best.
“Haru Haru”
One of their earliest releases, “Haru Haru” is the song that could be considered the song that shot them into popularity. For VIPs (their fandom name), any time this particular song comes up, the emotions become instantaneous and you cannot help but sing along. “Haru Haru” is a classic and goes down in K-Pop history as an iconic song that fans of all ages know all too well.
“BANG BANG BANG”
As BIGBANG has several catchy hit songs, there are so many to choose from, but one of the most popular songs of their recent releases comes from their MADE series, titled “BANG BANG BANG.” This particular song is the type of song you simply can’t skip over and you must turn up the volume up high. “BANG BANG BANG” is a party favorite and will get people up on their feet dancing along. Let’s not forget the awesome visuals and fashion from this veteran group as well!
“If You”
If you thought that “Haru Haru” was an emotional song, “If You” takes the crown for being one of the most emotional ballads that the group as released this far. The song keeps it simple, where the members’ vocals are complemented by the acoustic instrumentals. It’s not often you hear all the members of BIGBANG sing as G-DRAGON and T.O.P are more known for their rapping abilities. One listen and you’ll be able to feel all the raw, sad, and longing emotions that this song conveys.
“Bad Boy”
As the last song to highlight this week on Throwback Thursday, “Bad Boy” is another smash hit from BIGBANG. This R&B/Hip-Hop track will have many grooving along. In particular, the music video was set in New York City, adding to the cool, bad boy concept they had going. If you are looking to add a chill, laid-back song to your playlist, “Bad Boy” is a definite recommendation.
