Throwback Thursday: Female Power Anthems Pt. 2

Last year we touched upon a few of the best female power anthems in K-Pop, and this week we are bringing it back once again to highlight a few more songs. This week is dedicated to all the ladies out there!

“Gucci” - Jessi

Sometimes we all need that song that makes us just feel confident and bad (“Not bad meaning bad but bad meaning good, you know?” - CL, “The Baddest Female”) and Jessi’s “Gucci” is just the perfect fit for this week’s Throwback Thursday. By the end of the song, you’ll also feel like “Gucci” just like queen Jessi. Unapologetic and sharp, Jessi brings the heat with ”Gucci” and makes it a song that you simply cannot skip.

“Crazy” - 4Minute

Despite this girl group no longer being together, one of their best songs that oozes confidence and definitely rocks the girl-crush concept is 4Minute’s “Crazy.” From the hip-hop style and hard-hitting beat, this was one of the best summer hits of 2015 upon its release. These ladies bring the fire with “Crazy” and are not afraid to tackle the sexy yet tough and bold image. If you still haven’t gotten into 4Minute and have not heard of “Crazy” you are definitely missing out!

“So Hot” - Wonder Girls

Taking it all the way back to 2008, “So Hot” by Wonder Girls is another song that empowers women to be confident and unapologetic about themselves. The phrase “you do you” has never been more relevant than in this particular song and music video. It’s also amazing to see how much K-Pop has changed in 10 years (yes, this song is turning 10 years old this year!) from the style of music to even the fashion and concepts of the music videos. It definitely does bring back memories and nostalgia. We hope that all the Wonder Girls members are able to reunite and collaborate on music once more in the future!
