Yubin Makes Her Solo Debut with 都市女子 (Lady)

Former Wonder Girls’ member Yubin has finally made her solo debut! Titled 都市女子 (Lady), this marks Yubin’s first single and release as a solo artist since the Wonder Girls parted ways last year.

While her former band and labelmates Yeeun (HA:TFELT) and Sunmi have been active in the music industry, many fans were wondering if and when Yubin would be making her own solo debut. Since many know Yubin as the main rapper from Wonder Girls, her solo release proves that she’s not just a rapper but a vocalist as well. It definitely is a refreshing twist to see and hear Yubin be more of a vocalist and expand her talents rather than just sticking to being a rapper.

With “都市女子 (Lady),” Yubin takes on a ‘70s/’80s disco vibe from the sound to the fashion and even to how the music video is directed. Her single is catchy and addictive, all while giving it that nostalgic feel thanks to its retro inspiration. It is definitely a call back to when the Wonder Girls also did decade/retro-inspired concepts.
