A New Opening to the K-Pop Industry: Idol Room
Introducing a new program exclusive for idols, JTBC’s Idol Room features the perfect setlist any fan would like their artist to follow. Although a newbie to the variety entertainment industry, it seems like this show is ready to take K-Pop fans on an adventure.
Unique and Exclusive
Nowadays, a wide platform of shows provides the opportunity for celebrities to make an appearance on television. For idols, however, many are limited to music shows, idol shows such as Weekly Idol, videos like Pikicast and Dingo, or their own unique content to show themselves. No doubt did an addition of another broadcast, Idol Room, relieve fans of their worries about minimal exposure.
Introduction to Idol Room
Idol Room is a show aimed to introduce or establish the identity of idols; nevertheless, the MCs play a big role in bringing the show alive with their humorous characters. Jung Hyungdon and Defcon’s transfer from Weekly Idol resulted in a slight nickname change, now naming the duo as Donhee and Conhee. Opening the show with a signature pose made by HIGHLIGHT’s Dongwoon (though we are not sure how long it’ll last before Donhee and Conhee change it), the hosts are practicing their usual ways—which we definitely grew fond of—to run the show.
Idol Room also demonstrated a fresh set of segments that don’t fail to entertain the viewers throughout the one-hour course. Following a concise introduction of the group, an individual-focused fancam is presented as a reward to get the idols ready to show off their attractive charms. If you’re a fan of perfectly synchronized choreographies, it’s worth checking out the program’s original content: “Nano Dance” and “357 Dance.” “Fact Check” is a corner where the guests get a simple break from activity; sitting down and having a chat with the hosts, it’s all about that quality time getting to know each and every member.
Whether it may be your favorite artist(s) or the program itself, this new idol show will bring laughter and joy. The program has attracted the attention of many viewers with the appearance of amazing groups. Already earning the reputation as one of Korea’s idol-representing shows, Idol Room is definitely in line to spread the Hallyu Wave on a global scale.
