Weekly Charts returns for the third week of July with this week’s freshest releases to catch you up with the hottest tracks and help you find your anthem for the summer! Check out this week’s music that will leave you vibing, crying, and flying free this season.

FIERY FOUR

MAMAMOO heats up the charts with the release of “Egotistic” on July 16 off of their seventh mini-album, Red Moon. As part of their summer album, these fine four ladies show a more fiery side with a Latin-inspired beat accompanied by their sultry vocals which belittle their selfish lovers and their desire to break free from their hopeless love. Currently 19th on Instiz’s Weekly iChart, listeners can foresee their rise on the charts from the looks of their pre-release, “Rainy Season,” and their last promoted track, “Starry Night,” still present in the Top 20 of the MelOn Weekly Charts.

SUMMERTIME SADNESS

DAVICHI released their newest single, “Nostalgia,” on July 12. Known for their emotional ballads perfect for any K-Drama, the duo sing a story of lingering heartbreak with painful nostalgia that can only be cured by abandoning sweet memories. The progression of soft piano keys followed by Minkyung and Haeri’s powerhouse vocals bring the lyrics to life with listeners reminiscing vividly of their bittersweet past. Placed at 17th on Genie and 10th on Instiz, DAVICHI sings for the lonely hearts this season.

THE COOL DOWN

R&B singer Crush released his summer track, “Cereal,” featuring ZICO, on July 13 from his third EP, Wonderlost, as part of his Wonder album series. In contrast to the calming melodies of Wonderlust, the artist changes up with a brighter and upbeat song that rejoices his newfound love, comparing his feelings with a strong desire to spend every morning with his lover eating cereal and cleverly announcing to the world that “she’s real,” which adds a whimsical element to the song title. At number 14 on Bugs! Weekly Chart, the mix of Crush’s smooth vocals and ZICO’s versatile rapping blended to a groovy beat is perfectly suited for a summer cooldown mix.

Yoon Mirae returned with “You & Me” on July 5 as part of her Gemini 2, a sequel to her 2002 Gemini album. Deviating from her usual hip-hop sound, this new track features melodic synthesizers for a more bubbly image that expresses the story of two friends experiencing love that is beyond platonic. While the song focuses on an incomplete love story, images of Yoon Mirae, Tiger JK, and their friends vibing together shares another story of cherishing friendships. This hidden gem rests at number 11 on Bugs! as the best anthem to blast with your friends in your summer adventures.
