MAMAMOO Lights a Fire with “Egotistic”
MAMAMOO is back with another unique concept. They are continuously bringing new energy to the K-Pop industry with every album released. MAMAMOO has grown so much since their debut where they started off with a toned-down funk concept and kept improving their sound to a unique sexy concept. Their new mini-album, Red Moon, is retro themed and consists of six different songs.
The title song, “너나 해 (Egotistic)” is a reggaeton song with a Latin/Spanish vibe and consists of amazing, unique guitar riffs. The song is about being in a relationship where you care about the other person but they only think of themselves. The music video has a sunset color theme which gives off a mysterious feel throughout the song. The dance is also different than their usual concepts as it has many sexy and mystical moves.
The next song, “여름밤의 꿈 (Summer Night Dream),” is a pop track that has soothing chime sounds in the background. The song is about having a love during the night that seemed unrealistic, like a dream. “장마 (Rainy Season)” is an acoustic song with a calming guitar tune; you can feel the emotions of the song from each other members. This song is one of my favorites on the album and is about wanting to break up with someone and being overwhelmed by the emotions alone.
“하늘하늘 청순 (Sky! Sky!)” is an upbeat song that makes you think of the happy memories with your first love or crush. The song is about remembering the memories of your past breakup and how much you learned and grew from the hurt. “Selfish” is Moonbyul’s solo single featuring Seulgi from Red Velvet. The song gained a lot of popularity because of the laid-back vibe coming from the lyrics, which are about being carefree even though people may judge them.
MAMAMOO continues to impress fans with their new, unique concepts every time they come back. They have released their sexiest concept yet, which has surprised fans and kept them wanting more. Please support MAMAMOO as they continue their promotions!
