VIXX’s Leo Makes His Solo Debut!

VIXX’s resident quiet and mysterious member with dynamic vocals, Leo, has made his official solo debut. Fans of Leo and VIXX know that the member is highly active in the musical/theatre world and have been patiently waiting for him to release solo work. All the waiting has finally paid off as Leo is the next VIXX member to release his own solo album. Leo’s debut album takes the form of a mini-album titled CANVAS.

Getting Sensual with “Touch & Sketch”

The title track of Leo’s solo album is “Touch & Sketch,” where the VIXX member gets sexy and sensual. It comes as no surprise that Leo would release a song that starts off slow but blooms into an upbeat, EDM-influenced song. With the album titled CANVAS, Leo keeps to the artistic theme with “Touch & Sketch” as he is seen several times painting a portrait. The music video also highlights the smooth and sleek choreography of the song, further enforcing that Leo is here and not playing any games with his first solo release. There is something about Leo’s piercing gaze that pulls you in as you continue to watch. It’s as if he’s staring directly into your soul while he moves throughout the music video. Do not be surprised if you end up feeling a little flushed by this alluring and beautiful music video.

The rest of the album is a mix of slow ballads and bold, high-energy songs. All the songs off his mini-album fit together for the art theme he has going on. Leo paints several pictures ranging from soft and light to dark, mysterious, and daring. One song in particular is the B-side gem off the album titled “Cover Girl,” which features EXID’s LE. It is the type of song that you can just groove to and let the music take over. Both Leo and LE complement each other; one would think this is an unlikely collaboration, but it stuns with the power and sensuality of the song. “Cover Girl” is also a song that you can visualize being played down the runway of fashion week.

Leo will blow you away with his acoustic and emotional ballads for “Free Tempo,” “Nowadays,” and “Dream.” The rest of the album will have you ready to party and have fun with “Give Me Something” and “Gesture.”

All in all, Leo makes a smashing solo debut, and from beginning to end, you will not be disappointed in the album. If you have not had the opportunity to check out CANVAS, I highly recommend you give this debut album a chance.
