We’ve got killer women, dreamy girls, groovy singers, and tear-jerking vocalists to liven up your playlist for the week.

CHART TOPPERS OF THE WEEK

Sunmi expresses a love hazard with “Siren,” released off of her new EP, Warning, on September 4. The soloist returns with an ‘80s pop track complete with banging percussions and retro synths characteristic of the decade. Stunning visuals have become a necessity for a Sunmi music video, as “Siren” features red lights and mermaids symbolizing the deadly mythical creature, in addition to the performance-heavy choreography, remarkable outfits (definitely using a “Priority” sticker as a hair accessory now), and light humor that completes the checklist. Channel your inner siren through this catchy, yet lethal, tune that’s taken this week’s number one spot on MelOn and Instiz.

Punch delivered a heart-wrenching ballad with the release of “Goodbye” on September 12. Many recall the vocalist for her notable work on It’s Okay, That’s Love, Descendants of the Sun, and Goblin, delivering heart-fluttering OSTs during pivotal scenes from some of the public’s favorite dramas. In contrast, “Goodbye” focuses on the singer’s self-realization of her dying relationship, speaking honestly about its inevitable end and the process of letting go before the wound in her heart deepens. Topping the charts at number three on MelOn and number two on Instiz, Punch’s emotional ballad is a must-listen for autumn.

BANGERS OF THE WEEK

Jay Park connects with girls around the world with “V” from his latest single released on September 10. As an artist who stresses the importance of connecting through language-exhibited by the English versions of his songs and the fact he subtitles his own music videos-Jay Park focuses on the power of body language to communicate with women of different cultures, starting with the lovely “V” pose. While the groovy R&B track is a hit alone, the music video is a must-see for its psychedelic illustrations, eye-popping scenes, diverse leading women, and even the singer performing sign language-another language to add to his resume. At number five on Mnet’s weekly music chart, Jay Park’s latest single assures listeners that no barrier can stop the force of love.

Oh My Girl cherishes beautiful memories with the explosive track “Remember Me” from their sixth mini-album released on September 10. These darlings have switched things up this comeback with pumping EDM combined with a dreamy Oh My Girl twist, producing a mix that perfectly expresses the emotional burst of falling in love. From game shows to the endless skies and even outer space, the girls experience a special kind of love that’s larger than life, depicted in the music video by the girls admiring grand fireworks from various locations. Taking the number three spot on Bugs!, share your beautiful memories on the dance floor with this electric, romantic dance track.

OST OF THE WEEK

This week’s charting OST features Jung Seunghwan’s “I’m Fine” released on September 11 from Life OST Part 6. Perfectly suiting the drama’s plot centered around the endless working environment of hospitals, this soundtrack expresses the idea of hiding one’s internal struggle, highlighting the concept of feeling eternally stuck in the same place while silently seeking help. The lyrics touch on feelings of anxiety, having to conceal pain, and searching for support while simultaneously holding on to a small glimpse of hope. Currently number two on both Genie and Bugs!, “I’m Fine” reassures those that feel buried today that everything will be fine tomorrow.
