B-Sides: Motivation Monday Round 1

Let’s face it: Mondays are the absolute worst. The weekend ends and we’re forced to return to our mundane lives after two days of relaxation. Anyone would have trouble overcoming the apathy that comes with Monday mornings. But here at The Kraze, we’ve got a list of songs to help pump you up for the hardest day of the week.

“HALA HALA” - ATEEZ

ATEEZ’s “HALA HALA” is a track that is a perfect balance of lighter rhythms and intense melodies, with a message of realizing and chasing dreams. The song is a perfect track to wake up to—one that won’t assault your eardrums with fiery passion, but will definitely get you up and moving as needed. It’s easy to forget working toward your dreams and passions in a mundane week, but ATEEZ is here to remind you to work toward it every day, even if it’s just a little bit.

“UP” - Bobby feat. MINO

A certified banger off of iKON’s Bobby’s first album, “UP” is a hip-hop influenced track that features a verse from his good friend WINNER’s MINO. Bobby shows off his rapping skills to the fresh track, with both of the rappers sticking to a lower and alluring timbre that makes the track feel less hectic. The opening lines, “I gotta do what I gotta do man,” are somehow a perfect fit for the dreary emotions that come along with the beginning of the week, but the driving beat and fierce verses will inject you with a concentrated shot of energy for sure.

“MIC Drop (Steve Aoki Remix)” - BTS

The remix version of “MIC Drop” produced by Steve Aoki really brings that “it” factor to an already stellar BTS song, making for the epitome of music in one track. The remix has a good balance, with a calmer start that builds up perfectly to the drop and slowly builds anticipation while doing so. Sometimes we forget we have to hype ourselves up, and what better way to do that than show off a little like BTS does in the music video? You’ll be ready to take on anything the day has in store for you after listening to this one.

“Let Out the Beast” - EXO

The title of this song really says it all: Let out your inner beast and take on the world today! EXO’s early track “Let Out the Beast” has a relentless and driving rhythm that begins within the first second. The high-energy dance track is a bit different from the other songs on this list, but it’s impossible to ignore the impact of this song on your energy levels and the persistent repetition of the title.

“Ice Ice” - HyunA feat. Yuk Jidam

Who else could we turn to but the queen of K-Pop to instill some energy into us for the week? HyunA’s “Ice Ice” is a heavy hip-hop track that really showcases her fierceness and tenacity, inspiring others to follow in her footsteps. Just saying the name HyunA elicits a certain level of respect and admiration, so having her sing of mocking her haters is sure to bring about the fighting spirit needed to conquer the day.
