FANXY CHILD Rocks Seoul in First Official Concert

The FANXY CHILD crew held their first concert in the SK Olympic Handball Gymnasium in Seoul on August 10 and August 11. The entire FANXY CHILD family was in attendance, including the newest member Stay Tuned. Fans turned out in droves despite the blistering heat.

Even before the concert began, I was blown away by the efficiency and care that was given to the audience, especially those in the standing sections. We were let into the venue earlier than expected, much to our surprise. Then security and staff began distributing water throughout the section to anyone who needed it. We were also given clear instructions several times from the staff about what to do if we needed any assistance at all during the concert.

The setup was a pleasant surprise; the stage was set up in the form of a Y, with the bottom part of the Y going into the audience. At the top of the Y, there was a full DJ setup, a set of keys, and the most unexpected, a full band complete with wood and brass instruments.

With any concert with multiple artists, the set will often feel disjointed—that was never the case with FANXY CHILD. The transition between individuals was highlighted with songs that featured the next artist. The show started with a jaw dropping intro by millic leading into his first song, then penomeco took over with classics like “Coco Bottle” and “PNM” (Plus and Minus). After penomeco came DEAN with “Pour Up” right out of the gate. “Pour Up” with a full band live hits in a way you would never imagine. After DEAN’s set we were given a taste of two unreleased songs from the newest member of the crew, StayTuned. Then along came Crush, causing everyone to swoon with classics like “Sofa” and “잊어버리지 마.” “Oasis” was used to transition to ZICO, who had the final set of the night. ZICO’s set was full of classic songs that everyone knows and loves. However, the surprise of the night was when ZICO announced a new album will be coming very soon and gave us a sneak peek to one of the ballads titled “One Man Show.”

The final song of the show was FANXY CHILD’s new track “Y.” The feelings were tangible as the members of FANXY CHILD laid it all out on stage. My fingers are crossed hoping KOZ Entertainment and FANXY CHILD Child decides to bring this show to other cities so everyone can experience the magic.
