Play HIDE and SEEK With Weki Meki

Weki Meki is back with their latest mini-album, HIDE and SEEK. Fronted by their new title track “OOPSY,” the group’s new release is a playful project perfect for summer.

“OOPSY” is a sassy, funk-driven track that relies heavily on trap beats and bright synth beats. It’s an easy song to dance to and the chorus is just as catchy, but much of the song’s appeal lies in the cheekiness from the girls as they sing of their worries in a new relationship. The music video showcases Weki Meki in mysterious lighting, in a way that makes the viewer feel like they’re playing a game of hide-and-seek befitting their album title.

The EP is comprised of four other tracks, including the 90’s pop-influenced “Moya Moya,” that sounds like something Mariah Carey might’ve released back in the day. “Youniverse” isn’t quite a ballad, but it’s certainly softer compared to the previous tracks, “The Paradise” on the other hand, brings back the pop in full force, with just a hint of the mystery of “OOPSY.” The album closes out on a fun note with the group’s previously released “DAZZLE DAZZLE.”
