From modern and elegant monochrome lines to the cool and trendy fashion film with A.C.E and woo!ah! members, here’s our recap of the second day exploring Seoul through the digital runway of 2022 spring-summer trends at Seoul Fashion Week.

Hanacha Studio — Point, Line, Plane

Hanacha Studio worked with their characteristic forms and prints in their new collection and artwork as well. They manage to keep classic simple elements, like dots and lines, modern and fresh throughout the whole Point, Line, Plane collection. They also blended these elements into the historic background at the Gyeonghuigung Palace. The film mixes the traditional runway elements like lights with the digital runway, allowing for fisheye cuts and slow motion. The music elevated to another level as it started out very traditional and slowly started to incorporate the more typical runway beats in the last third.

A.Bell — Night of Counting the Stars

The A.Bell fashion film is as digital as it can get, with its animated presentation that takes the new collection above the clouds and beyond. It starts off with a quote from the poem “Night of Counting the Stars” by poet Yoon Dongju: “But when winter passes and spring comes to my star / Just as the blue grass blooms on the grave, on the hill where my name is buried / It's going to be full of grass like bragging.” The collection aims to represent this same hope even in difficult situations. The pieces are very chic, modern, and fashion-forward.

KUMANN YOO HYE JIN — ASTRO girl

KUMANN YOO HYE JIN’s 2022 spring-summer collection brings the world of comics into real life by the industrial Yevit at the Han River. The ASTRO girl collection was inspired by science fiction and space girls, and presents a new dimension and reality in the mindset of the virtual globalization and uncertainty of the world, and perhaps the upcoming space era. The silhouettes and forms of this collection definitely hint back at the comic inspiration, so wearing them in the upcoming season would make you feel like you are the main character, even if you are only going to a garden party and not to Mars.

SAINT MILL — Finding myself in me

The short presentation of SAINT MILL started out as an idea of comfort in these times when everyone’s safety should be the most important. The elegant collection is made playful with interesting and unique prints, and the brilliant hair and makeup creations made it look like we watched a moving fashion editorial.

HOLYNUMBER7 — RIGHT HAND

The HOLYNUMBER7 presentation was the hippest of all — and not only because A.C.E’s Kim Byeongkwan and Chan and woo!ah!’s Nana, Wooyeon, and Minseo proved there’s nothing they can't do on the digital runway. The collection speaks with its own extravagant and youthful street style. On the familiar stonewall walkway of Deoksugung Palace, the designer duo and couple, Song Hyunheui and Choi Kyoungho, showcased their witty, fun, and ecstatic designs—which, by the way, are zero waste to raise awareness of environmental pollution caused by fiber waste, leading the change in the fashion industry.
