MIRAE Stuns With “KILLA” Debut!
DSP Media’s newest boy group has finally arrived! MIRAE is the first boy group to come out of DSP Media since A-JAX’s debut in 2012 and disbandment in 2019, so it’s safe to say their debut was highly anticipated. The group debuted with a mini-album consisting of six songs: “We Are Future,” “KILLA,” “Higher,” “Swagger,” “Sweet Dreams,” and “1 Thing.”
“KILLA”
The title track “KILLA” is a stellar dance-pop track full of robotic elements that fulfill the futuristic sound it’s going for. The way the elements were used really rounded out the sound and helped create a strong impression. The transition from the very first vocal line to the rap immediately after was a nice stylistic touch— not only was it surprising at first, but also made the song more enjoyable and intriguing to listen to. The harmonies and adlibs that can be heard throughout are very well done and the electric guitar right before the bridge was a lovely surprise—just like the mixing effects used to create the cool “glitch” sound as the verse and chorus come back into the track. All of the members did an amazing job with their parts, but the vocals of Yubin, Lien, and Douhyun really stood out and packed a punch. Taking everything into consideration, “KILLA” was very well produced and implemented; as a debut track, it’s amazing, and hopefully, it’ll be a successful promotion period for MIRAE as a group!
