G-reyish Reinvent Themselves With “숨 (Blood Night)”

The four-member group G-reyish debuted in 2017 with their single, “Johnny Go Go.” With one consistent release per year, G-reyish has experimented with a variety of sounds, including nu-disco, EDM, and J-Rock. Now the group is back with their first mini-album, M. The album includes all their past singles and two new songs, including the title track “숨 (Blood Night).”

The group completely reinvented themselves with the new title track. Known for their brighter, colorful, and cute style, G-reyish opts for a girl crush meets horror concept in “숨 (Blood Night).” The girls infuse their boldness and the horror concept into every aspect of this comeback including the haunting music video, which features the girls wearing bright red lenses, using an ouija board, and dancing in an abandoned factory with blood-covered barb wires.

Rebranding themselves in terms of sound and style has worked out well for many groups in the past. With the new mini-album, G-reyish hopes to draw the attention of new fans and expand their sound. The song is also another addition to the growing interest in horror concepts for girl groups. “숨 (Blood Night)” is a very well-produced comeback and shows that the girls of G-reyish can adapt to different music styles with ease.
