Lee Jinhyuk Stars in 5K for His New Album, SCENE26
UP10TION’s Lee Jinhyuk is back with his new album SCENE26 featuring the lead single “5K.” The rapper grew in popularity after participating in 2019’s Produce X 101 series. He has released multiple solo tracks ever since with his own unique flavor on each of them. Following dance-pop heavy tracks, “5K” finds Jinhyuk focusing more on his rapping skills while remaining colorful and expressive. The track was produced by MonoTree’s Inner Child who has previously worked with Stray Kids, ONEUS, Moonbyul of MAMAMOO, and many more.
The title of the song refers to the visual quality 5K which is considered to be extremely good but also rare. The chorus contains a clever word play as he repeats the word “okay,” given that “5” is pronounced as “oh” in Korean. The music video features multiple different versions of Jinhyuk as he dances around in an art gallery/museum and represents different exhibits available to be viewed by the audience.
The B-sides are hip-hop infused tracks with “소행성 (Asteroid)” and “HATI-HATI” being two that stand out the most. He also took part in writing, composing, and arranging most of the songs on the album. While fans wait for him to return to his group for future activities, Jinhyuk has been treating his fans with good quality solo content. Watch the music video for “5K” below!
