After a fairly quiet July, August was jam packed with comebacks and debuts. With tons of colorful comebacks, K-Pop had one of the busiest months this year. Let’s take a look at some of the best B-sides from August.

“Bottom Of The Ocean” by Golden Child

A pop-rock anthem reminiscent of the emo-punk era of early 2000s, “Bottom Of The Ocean” is an all-English track from Golden Child’s second studio album, [Game Changer]. The lyrics of the song are a confession about a crush who is out of their league. Read our exclusive interview with Golden Child here.

“Narcissism” by Sunmi

“Narcissism” is a B-side inspired by the Greek mythology of Narcissus who fell in love with his own reflection; however, Sunmi creates a different narrative on this synth-pop EDM track. She comes to the conclusion that she no longer recognizes the person she sees in the mirror. Check out our review of Sunmi’s 1/6  here.

“The View” by Stray Kids

One of the few tracks on their new album NOEASY where 3RACHA collaborates with another songwriter, “The View” was co-written by K-Pop songwriter Kyrsta Youngs. Stray Kids create a perfect summer song with “The View,” filled with melodic raps, an addictive chorus, and electronic hook. Read our review of the new album here.

“BAD DREAM ” by CIX

“BAD DREAM” is the album opener for CIX’s first full-length project, ‘OK’ Prologue: Be OK. The song is an amped up, energetic song with a bouncy guitar riff and a powerful synth bass drop. With appropriate lyrics fitting the album’s overall theme, CIX sings about the earnest prayers of young people who are wandering lost due to a nightmare-like reality.

“AM PM” by JAY B ft. Wheein

As a soloist, JAY B has established himself as a smooth R&B crooner. The GOT7 member released his solo debut album, SOMO: FUME  this month. JAY B combines his talents and lyricism with Wheein of MAMAMOO to create a beautiful R&B love song. “AM PM” is about missing your loved one day in and day out.
