Songs to Make You Rock Out
K-Rock is always unique and awesome for when you’re looking for something a bit more hardcore. For this Throwback Thursday, let’s take a look at some catchy rock songs that are perfect for that headbanging sound.
“I Wait” - DAY6
“I Wait” has a slow build up, which allows us to hear DAY6’s vocals, and then progresses to their powerful chorus. The chorus is full of emotion and such a fun punch that you will want to sing along and wait eagerly for it to come back around. The music video is relatively simple, allowing the viewer to focus on the song as it shows various backgrounds, from relaxing skies to bright cityscapes that are projected behind and on the members.
“GOOD NIGHT” - Dreamcatcher
While not exactly K-Rock, If you are looking for a unique metal sound, then “GOOD NIGHT” is a perfect choice. The song begins with a creepy lullaby that adds to the aggressiveness of the sound when the loud drum beat drops. The high vocals of the members paired with the heavy sound of the bass and guitar really make a unique contrast that is an attractive key point of this song and of Dreamcatcher’s style. The video matches the song, as it is very creepy with a dark fantasy theme, and includes the members performing their dance in a foggy, dark forest.
“Take Me Now” - FTISLAND
“Take Me Now” has that classic metal sound that is hard to resist. The heavy riff begins immediately with an equally powerful drum beat. It slows down during various verses, but dives right back into that addictive riff. FTISLAND’s main vocalist, Hongki, has a great range and dynamic in his voice that elevates the sound. “Take Me Now” is an absolute headbanger from beginning to end. The music video fits with the lyrics as it shows a girl breaking away from the norm and society.
“EDEN” - IZ
“EDEN” is a guitar-driven song that is very edgy, and takes much inspiration from the J-Rock style. It is a high-energy song throughout, and the strong vocals of Jihoo, IZ’s vocalist, really fit the driven tune. The music video is dark overall, but uses pops of various colors in the background, as well as reflecting flowers onto the members throughout to emphasize the Garden of Eden theme in the lyrics.
