Throwback Girl Group Hits from October 2015-2021

October has just begun! The leaves are falling, the weather has cooled down, and we’re just two months away from the end of 2022. There’s a number of popular artist comebacks and debuts coming this month that will make this a jam-packed October! While we wait for MAMAMOO, Dreamcatcher, LE SSERAFIM, and plenty of other female artists to take over the month, let’s take a look back on some popular hits that took over October in their respective years!

“Savage” - aespa (2021)

A futuristic look into aespa’s universe, “Savage” has, without a doubt, left many curious of the eccentric, yet attractive musical inspiration that comes from SM Entertainment’s charming quartet. It’s only been a year since this gem dropped and it’s still an instant replay!

“Why Not?” - LOONA (2020)

An edgy hit with a cinematic-like visual, LOONA’s “Why Not?” is a groovy hit that becomes more addicting with each listen! This song reminds me of the first year of the pandemic, coping through the world crisis with this particular choreography.

“Wonder Woman” - Brown Eyed Girls (2019)

A timeless girl group from the second generation, Brown Eyed Girls made an impactful return in 2019 with a sensual visual in “Wonder Woman.” One of the best parts found in the music video is the troupe of drag queens creating an aesthetically pleasing and picturesque video.

“La Vie en Rose” - IZ*ONE (2018)

The year of their debut, the Produce 48 group IZ*ONE began their journey with “La Vie en Rose.” A song that’s as delicate as a flower, it takes you back to the softer era where the fourth generation made their mark in 2018.

“LIKEY” - TWICE (2017)

A bubbly tune with earworm quality, TWICE’s “LIKEY” will forever have a grip on your life with its cute choreography. Has it really been five years already?

“Very Very Very” - I.O.I (2016)

Going down in history as a memorable group created from the idol competition series Produce 101, I.O.I made it big with “Very Very Very.” There’s so much charisma found in the visual and the song exudes happiness like you’ve never experienced before. It was even re-uploaded almost two years after its original release on YouTube.

“4 Walls” - f(x) (2015)

The unforgettable hit “4 Walls” is an instant favorite to K-Pop fans of all ages, especially to the newest generation of fans. We must not forget the impact that f(x) has left behind for the current girl groups of 2022.
