“DIVE” Into uni’s Uplifting Debut

“DIVE” into uni’s debut released on December 8, 2022. This co-ed indie-rock band is formed by bassist Seungmin, guitarist Dohwi, and drummer Youkyung, who is a former member of AOA, P.AZIT, Sponge Band, and Y&Z Project. Kim Jeongwoo (TOXIC), alongside uni, wrote, composed, and arranged their first single “DIVE,” and Director Ahn also composed and arranged the track.

If you’re looking for a Korean version of your favorite indie-rock bands from the 1980s to the early 2000s, you’re looking in the right place. There’s something different about uni compared to other bands from the past two generations. Could we be seeing an old trend reappearing with a modern look?

The lyrics make this debut even greater! It’s a hearty song telling the audience to not care about appearances or negative thoughts and feelings, urging the listener to “DIVE” into their dream and only be themselves. Even if you fall, don’t take a step back, just get back up and continue taking steps forward. Let’s take uni’s advice and, “Just dive!”

It proves that no matter the age difference, people will come together to show us that rock will always have a place in our hearts and bands will never die out. It’s also a reminder to never give up on your dreams because your experience builds your character and personality, so let’s cheer for uni to have a successful debut as we look forward to their first album together!
