All About Boys

From powerhouse classics to debuts, this week's Throwback Thursday is going to take a look at some iconic songs that are all about boys.

“The Boys” - Girls’ Generation

For a powerful performance and song, Girls’ Generation will have you blown away with their song “The Boys.” It uses a hard-hitting backtrack and the members' strong vocals to pull you in, especially their unison chanting. One line that will forever be iconic from this song is, “Girls’ Generation make you feel the heat.” The music video is quite dramatic, from their elegant dresses with rose petals floating all around them to the more futuristic white and silver performance stage, emphasizing their strong choreography.

“Boy” - The Boyz

The Boyz debuted with their song “Boy,” and it is a perfect introduction to the members and their style. It is an R&B/pop dance track that shows off the cool charisma of the many members. The music video pairs two members in their own various scenes, from sitting out on the street to dancing on the subway. With there being so many members in The Boyz, the choreography stands out and makes for quite an impactful performance.

“Ma Boy” - SISTAR19

SISTAR19 is a sub-unit from SISTAR featuring members Hyolyn and Bora. The song is slow yet very uplifting, and the repetition of “Ma Boy” throughout the chorus is guaranteed to get stuck in your head. The music video really shows off the charisma of the two members, from their cheery smiles to seductive dance moves. The choreography is fun and quite memorable, like the dancing with the use of a chair and, of course, the iconic point move of their body rolls that time flawlessly with the beat of the song.

“BOY” - TREASURE

Similar to The Boyz, TREASURE also debuted with a song titled “BOY.” “BOY” gives us an electronic trap beat to create a cool dance song, and the chorus drops into a techno beat with the catchy, repetitive line, “Be my be my be my girl.” The aesthetics of the music video are quite pleasing, with bright outfits and sets to more futuristic sets that reflect the bright energy this boy group brings to their music.
