bugAboo Drops the Infectious “[POP]” in their First Comeback
Rookie girl group bugAboo has made their first comeback! The A TEAM Entertainment girl group debuted in October of last year with a single album of the same name. The debut title currently sits at 16 million views on YouTube, which is no small feat. This latest second album, [POP], is the first comeback for the group and has somewhat of a nostalgic sound for fans of early 2010s K-Pop.
“[POP]” has a catchy pop and heavy synth beat, with a composition that is reminiscent of 2010s K-Pop. The song opens up with a strong declaration of, “Break it out, bang it down,” before the beat hits, packing a punch. There’s a stark contrast between rap and vocals in this song, which allow both to shine pretty strongly. The girls sing with confidence in their sound, and it’s clearly reflected by how quickly this song repeats in your head.
The video is full of color and has a street style type of vibe to it, with walls painted in bright orange graffiti and unique streetwear fashion. In contrast, there is a scene in a plain white tiled room where the girls are dressed in contrasting shades of black, red, and yellow leather. They definitely radiate confidence in their performance to match the lyrics. This comeback has a different feel from their debut music video, but overall is still bright and fun all around.
