Lapillus Show Their Determination in First Comeback With “GRATATA”

Only about three months since MLD Entertainment’s rookie group Lapillus debuted, they’re already back with their first mini-album GIRL’s ROUND Pt. 1 and its funky title track “GRATATA.”

Lapillus first debuted back in June with their digital single “HIT YA!” Since the song’s release, member and leader Shana says they were already practicing for “GRATATA,” and preparing for their first comeback. The group wanted to show fans a new side of them as soon as they could. 

“GRATATA” is a funky dance track that features a catchy bass line and lyrics that exude confidence and determination. The song is about the group taking shots at their dreams as described by numerous members. It’s catchy right from the first listen, and the choreography matches the vibes of the song as well. It’s a lot different from “HIT YA!” that was more focused on their performance and choreography, as “GRATATA” gives the members a chance to shine vocally with more high notes and full verses. 

The music video also matches the theme of the song with vibrant colors and bold styling. There’s truly never a dull moment when you watch the video! Between the visuals, choreography, and every member getting to shine, it’s captivating from start to finish. Lapillus is already proving to be stellar rookies with this comeback, and it’s exciting to see where they’ll go from here. They’re already showing they have strong support, especially in the Philippines where member Chanty is from and where her career in entertainment started as an actress before she became an idol. Shana also had previous support thanks to her participation on the show Girl’s Planet 999. 

GIRL’s ROUND Pt. 1 features five tracks, including the title track plus its instrumental, as well as three other songs including “Burn With Love,” which serves as the mini-album’s second title track, “Queendom,” and their debut release “HIT YA!”
