ADORA’s Reintroduction With Adorable REbirth
After the release of her third single “Trouble? TRAVEL!” back in June, ADORA returns and greets fans with her first mini-album Adorable REbirth, released on September 26. The singer-songwriter made her long-awaited debut as an artist in 2021 after departing from BigHit Entertainment where she was an in-house producer, to joining AURA Entertainment for a fresh start and reintroduction to herself.

The beginning monologue of “Magical Symphony” sets the tone for the rest of the album and exudes of excitement for the track to begin:
Ladies and gentlemen, once again, it is that time/
And don't act like you quite don't know what I mean/
'Cause everybody's time is our time/
ADORA’s consistent use of traditional marching band percussion and woodwind instruments has branded her as someone whose voice matches the vibe of a Disney musical. Her innovative ways of modernizing these instruments with pop and hip-hop flares has made her stand out in a way that has now made this sound hers.
The music video for “Magical Symphony” almost exists to simply show how much of an ace ADORA is in her role as an idol. The role of the dancers creates a musical theater vibe to the whole video, with its theatrics pairing well with the marching-band-pop-fusion of the song itself. ADORA nails whimsical, musical, Disney-esque songs on the head as her passion for music shines the most through her voice, performance, and visuals.
As Adorable REbirth continues on, the second track “My Guy” takes you away with its initial keys and snatches you back in with its opening line: "I believe in love, I believe in love, I believe in you." “My Guy” talks about how weird and gushy the word ‘love’ itself feels, and how although it may be a bit too early to say that word, ADORA’s feelings towards that person are undeniable. ADORA’s intonation with these lyrics is addicting and captures the humor of these emotions well. You can truly feel that she’s put herself in the song through this, which only makes the song more fun to listen to—when an artist is fully themselves in the track it only makes you want to support them wholeheartedly.
The album moves onto tracks “CBGC” and “Blue Blue Space,” which when you listen to them back-to-back, feels like they are a continuation of one another. “CBGC” solidifies its place in the album as the midway point, as the song itself is more stripped back from her usual band instruments. The trinkets and synth sounds keep the song interesting, and it's hard to not find the pre-chorus addicting when relistening to the track. “CBGC” speaks about people judging ADORA and how you should be able to love yourself and live freely from people’s judgements. “Blue Blue Space” uses the metaphor of space in its lyrics to talk about one’s loneliness and how this space is ADORA’s only place of existence. As the track follows from “CBGC,” which suggests that although people may find comfort in their own company and their own thoughts, that inkling of wanting to find that person who is in your corner is always there and prevalent.
The album closes with “Starlight,” which leaves you appreciating the sound of ADORA’s voice when paired with the piano. The softness of the lyrics seeps through the speakers, enhancing how she adjusts her voice from lighter notes to fuller parts to make the sound richer when needed. “Starlight” is a wishful track, one that reads like a poem which speaks about feeling connected through the hearts of one another. I find that ADORA’s voice carries well in every genre, and hearing her sing this track reminds me of her second single “The Little Name,” which wasn’t promoted as a ballad, but definitely shows her vocal color in the same way and ultimately bends the rules of what a ballad should sound like.
ADORA owns the whimsical, musical-esque sound, as her passion for music shines the most within her songs. Through her voice, performance, and visuals, ADORA is able to bring listeners into her own world where the birds are singing, people are dancing, and life is just great.
