TWICE’s One in a Million B-Sides
Although we’re just one month into the new year, comeback season is already in full swing. On January 20, TWICE released a brand-new English track titled “MOONLIGHT SUNRISE.” The catchy pre-release single comes ahead of their twelfth mini-album, Our Youth, which is scheduled to drop in March. The Japanese sub-unit MISAMO–consisting of Mina, Sana, and Momo–also debuted with their new single “Bouquet” on January 25. According to JYP Entertainment’s quarterly report for 2023, fans can expect another large-scale world tour as well. “ICON”
“ICON” was released in November 2021 as the third track on TWICE’s third full-length album, Formula of Love: O+T=<3. TWICE proved once again that they’re the queens of all-English songs. The girls show off their vocal prowess as they sing about being on top of the world. Other people watch from below, trying to climb to their level, but TWICE has created a true legacy over the last seven years. “ICON” revels in that feeling. “SWEET SUMMER DAY”
“SWEET SUMMER DAY” is the last track from TWICE’s ninth EP, MORE & MORE. It’s an easy-listening B-side about living your life without any regrets. It’s reminiscent of summertime as a child when school was out and nothing else mattered. In the dead of winter, “SWEET SUMMER DAY” will warm up listeners as we look forward to the day the snow melts and is replaced by bright sunshine and sandy beaches. It’s a classic pop song with a refreshing vibe where you can’t help but dance along. “One In A Million”
From the mini-album that brought us “TT” comes a meaningful B-side for TWICE and their fans. “One In A Million” is the final track from Twicecoaster: Lane 2, released in 2017. Dedicated to their fandom, ONCE, the acoustic song shows off TWICE’s soft side with an overlay of heavenly harmonies. The lyrics are like a warm embrace as the nine-member group serenades listeners with the sentiment, “You’re something special.” At the same time, the title holds significant meaning as TWICE’s official introduction is, “One in a million! Hello, we are TWICE!” Whenever you’re feeling down, let the girls of TWICE remind you that you’re “One In A Million” with this feel-good track.
