Recently embarking on his 2023 tour, The Kraze was able to make it out to see soloist JUNNY. While he has yet to visit Europe (as of writing this article), JUNNY fans need to get themselves out to see him if they haven’t already. Even if you have never seen JUNNY live before and are a casual listener of the soloist, his latest tour, blanc, will make you want to get into him and get into his music.

Closing out the U.S. portion of his tour in San Diego, dedicated fans were all abuzz as they filled Brick by Brick to the brim to see him perform live, and the rain surely didn’t stop them. Whether it be fans who traveled to see him, those who are celebrating their birthdays, or those who are just wanting to be in the crowd, JUNNY brings a diverse set of fans, ready to party along with him.

Fans who were lucky enough to get VIP for JUNNY also had the chance to attend a meet and greet session with the artist as well as possibly walk away with a signed album. This was all done before the start of the concert. As more and more fans started to come in ahead of the show, fans were introduced to openers Justin Trash, Swimcoach, and DJ Minjeong. As the openers, Justin Trash and Swimcoach offered up a grungy hip-hop sound that really shook the venue. Soon enough, fans were getting hyped, and the energy and heat began to rise. When DJ Minjeong came on, fans were singing along to songs like Usher’s “Yeah! (feat. Lil Jon & Ludacris” and NewJeans’s “OMG.”

But as soon as JUNNY ran up on stage, fans were all smiles and cheers as he greeted the packed house. JUNNY truly shined on stage as he performed his set, often interacting with fans. Whether it be taking bouquets of flowers, snapping pictures with fans, splashing water, or straight up walking up to the barricade, his crowd work was stunning. Song after song, he showed no signs of stopping. Songs like “By My Side,” “Not About You,” and the heartwarming “Thank You” had fans singing along. By the end of the show, fans really didn’t want him to go.

By wonderful surprise, despite it being the end of the show, JUNNY still greeted fans afterward, circling around the venue and entering from the back entrance, giving love and eventually coming back to the front where he took pictures and signed autographs. It’s not often you see this type of fan interaction. Though the show had ended, it just shows how much he loves his fans and how he will spend as much time with them as he can so they all can walk away with a great experience and memory. JUNNY truly is a class act performer and really blew away the crowd. It really should be put into the universe that JUNNY deserves more love and recognition for his artistry.

As someone who was a casual listener of JUNNY and admittedly not as familiar with him as an artist, he has gained a new fan who is completely enamored with his music and performance. He put on a fantastic show, and it is so easy to see why he is so loved. No matter where he was on stage, you could feel his passion and his joy. The joys of having smaller venues for shows is that you can really hear the whole crowd sing along with JUNNY and feel the crowd jump along.

Don’t sleep on San Diego, as it’s a prime city where fans will show up and show out to support those within the K-Pop/Korean music industry. With JUNNY’s show being one of the rare times we’ll see an artist venture this down south in California and how big of a turn out it was, San Diego is worth adding to the stops for future artists. As for JUNNY, there is a good feeling that he’ll return to America’s Finest City once more, as he stated during the concert that San Diego was in his top three cities that he’s visited so far where he loved the energy and vibe. While you have the chance to see JUNNY while out on tour, it’s highly recommended that you go out, support him, and see him at his show. You will be guaranteed a good time, and it’ll be a miss if you didn’t. 2023 is truly shaping out to be a great year thus far for JUNNY, and we can’t wait to see what he has planned next.
