Cherry Bullet Shows Their Confidence in “P.O.W! (Play On the World)”
Cherry Bullet has finally made their return! The girl group released their third mini-album Cherry Dash with the title track “P.O.W! (Play On the World)” on March 7. It has been just over a year since the group had their last comeback with “Love In Space,” so this comeback has been very anticipated!
“P.O.W! (Play On the World)” is about not caring about other people’s opinions and taking on the world confidently. The girls walk down a runway in the music video, showcasing their confidence. Knowing the bright and fun concept for Cherry Bullet, this song is a perfect addition to their discography. The music video features lots of colors, gorgeous styling, and enticing choreography.
The track itself is upbeat and features a heavy techno pre-chorus which can be a way to keep listeners intrigued for more when the beat drops for the actual chorus. The chorus has a catchy beat drop featuring the repeated chant of, “That’s what I want!” referencing the message of confidence in the lyrics and the girls knowing what they want in the world. “P.O.W!” is a bit more experimental than their previous comebacks, such as “Love So Sweet" and “Love In Space,” but the girls own the sound and work well with it. This song is a great way to end winter comebacks and start the introduction of the spring comeback season.
Cherry Dash features five songs, including the title track and “Whistle Like That,” “Cloud Nine,” “Queen,” and “A Winter Star.” The B-sides on the album continue to fit with the concept and sound that we all know and love from them!
