Artist Highlight: BTS’ Jin

As time continues moving forward, we are closer and closer to 2025 and the reunion of BTS. The first member to join the military was Jin and right before his departure, he made sure to release a song to thank and say goodbye to ARMYs. From a handsome face to a wonderful voice, the eldest member Jin has set records and made history. His latest song, “The Astronaut” was released just a few months shy of his mandatory enlistment and was used as a way to thank his fans for always being by his side. It’s said that the music video was used as a way to paint his goodbye to his fans. From pushing a little girl away while riding her bike to being stranded in the middle desert, the video was sure to bring tears to the eyes of many fans. One thing about Jin is not only are his lyrics heartfelt but his voice really knows how to tie in all kinds of emotions. If you’re looking for a song full of love, stream “The Astronaut!”

My personal favorite song released by Jin would be “Epiphany” which was released as his solo song on the Love Yourself 結 'Answer' album. The song speaks on the epiphany one gets when they realize that deep down they should love themselves before they give a chance to love others. My favorite thing about this release was how powerful Jin's voice is throughout the song, especially during live performances. I think what makes a great artist is the energy they put into performances that make the songs 10 times more powerful and I think Jin does that so well! The music video was released as a comeback teaser for the album and it truly expressed the meaning behind loneliness and coming into oneself.

My favorite live performance has to be his with Coldplay in Argentina. There were truly a lot of raw emotions in that single performance that made it obvious this is what he was made to do. “The Astronaut” has been proven as a song full of emotions. Adding Chris Martin and the rest of the group just made it that much more breathtaking. Seeing Jin run through the stage full of happiness is sure to bring joy and even tears to some fans.
