Throwback Thursday: Iconic Bridges Part 1

I’ll give you 10 seconds to think of the first bridge that comes to mind when you hear iconic bridges. It’s hard to pick just one. There are so many out there that we can name that this had to be split into two parts. I bet one of the bridges you thought of is on this list as we speak. So let’s take it back and sing along to some iconic bridges.

EXO - “Tempo”

Let’s be so real: there's no way I can make this list and not add this song, there's just no way. “Tempo” was released on November 2, 2018, and let me tell you this song is so iconic. The members of EXO put their all into “Tempo.” The bridge showcased the members’ amazing vocals all the way. The way they all harmonize together makes listeners feel like they are floating. Also, the fact that they did this in all acapella was the icing on the cake. It’s a top-tier bridge that many of us sing along to.

NCT 127 - “Back 2 U (AM 01:27)”

Have you ever heard a song that made feel like you are on the verge of tears? Listening to NCT 127’s “Back 2 U (AM 01:27)” makes me feel like I’ve been broken up with, and I am beyond heartbroken. The whole song is an absolute masterpiece, and definitely a B-side that could have been a title track. The bridge of this song will have you clutching at your chest. The members sing their hearts out, and the way they alternate between the members sounds amazing. This is a well-known bridge that will forever remain in our hearts.

PRISTIN V - “Get It”

PRISTIN we miss you! PRISTIN V is a sub-unit of the girl group PRISTIN. The members were Nayoung, Roa, Eunwoo, Rena, and Kyulkyung. The bridge of the song is so calming. The falsetto is so soothing, and the way the rap rides the beat is priceless. This song is so fun, and will always be remembered for how good it is. We all wish we could have gotten more music from them, but this song right here is on repeat 24/7.

ATEEZ - “INCEPTION”

A masterpiece, a showstopper, an iconic song, I can continue. On July 29, 2020, KQ Entertainment's hit boy group ATEEZ dropped their piece “INCEPTION.” The bridge in “INCEPTION” feels heavenly. ATEEZ has never missed when it comes to bridges so it was so hard to pick just one. “Where you at? Where you at?” Many of us can sing this song all day long. I think what really pulls this piece together is the fact that the bridge has it all, and by that I mean the harmonizing, the rap, and of course the iconic high note that members Seonghwa and Jongho share. They dropped a masterpiece that we all can’t help but sing along to.

BLACKPINK - “WHISTLE”

Let’s take it back and talk about this banger right here. On August 8, 2016, BLACKPINK released their hype track “WHISTLE.” Personally, this is one of my favorite title tracks from them. The bridge of this song is definitely a build-up to the final chorus. The way you can hear the backing track pitch get higher and higher as the members sing along hypes up any listener. The members Jennie, Rosé, Jisoo, and Lisa gave us a dance track that many of us know the choreography to even to this day. It’s a fun track that I’m going to listen to right now.
