It’s Time To Celebrate Like It’s Your Birthday With ATEEZ
It’s time to party and celebrate like it’s your birthday. As a Libra, this song came just in time, and I will definitely be playing this song on my birthday. KQ Entertainment mega boy group ATEEZ dropped their hard-hitting Japanese EP, Birthday, and it is so good. The EP has six songs in total, and it is so much fun to listen to.
Birthday Tracklist:
“Birthday” (Title Track)
“Royal” (ATEEZ & BE:FIRST)
“Forevermore”
“Birthday (Instrumental)”
“Royal (Instrumental)” (ATEEZ & BE:FIRST)
“Forevermore (Instrumental)”
Title Track: “Birthday”
Starting off strong, “Birthday” is an upbeat dance track that makes you want to bust a move. The song is striking, and the beat is so addictive. The song starts a little spooky. There is an eerie sound to the track, but the moment you get to the chorus, that beat becomes groovy. There’s a part in the second verse where they change the beat up, and the moment you hear that iconic laugh from leader Hongjoong, you know he is about to eat, and he does. Mingi brings the original beat back with this verse, and the song comes together. It is such a fun song and will surely be played on everyone’s birthday.
The music video is vibrant and colorful. The sparkles shine bright, and the visuals are spectacular. There is an artistic look in the video that is aesthetically pleasing. There are scenes where they capture that party theme, and there are parts where we see the members in an all-white room for example. It’s a contrast to the party theme, but it’s like a painting: it’s seamless, striking, and makes you think.
It's Time To Party With These B-Sides
The next song on the EP is “Royal.” This song features the J-Pop boy group BE:FIRST. Four weeks ago, we were blessed with a banger of a song. This hard-hitting track is a mixture of English and Japanese. This mixture of groups was perfect. They both fit each other’s concepts, and as a listener, you are in awe with how good this song is.
A BALLAD! We got a ballad everyone! Whether it be in Korean, Japanese, or English, ATEEZ will always eat up a ballad. “Forevermore” is the best way to end this jammed-packed EP. The vocals of the members are amazing and soothing. I can picture them standing in a line behind their microphone stands singing this song as fans wave their lightsticks. It’s a beautiful song that will bring a smile to your face.
The last three songs are the instrumentals of the title track and two B-sides. I get it, sometimes we just want to hear the instrumentals to a song and they provided us with just that.
So, go and check out Birthday for a hype and enjoyable time.
