Best Music Videos of September 2024
Take a look at some of the best work to come out of September 2024.
BEST MUSIC VIDEOS BY A GROUP
“Nice Guy” by BOYNEXTDOOR is playful much like other videos by the group. The members start off by delivering pizza from the “boynextdough” shop and are later seen working as dog groomers. The music video, directed by SL8IGHT VISUAL LAB’s directing duo 725, has fun visual effects as the world moves and changes around the members. After working their two jobs, the members go to their apartment complex where they accidentally cause chaos by repeatedly falling through the floor.
The music video for “SAD SONG” by P1Harmony was produced by the well-known company RIGEND FILM. With the video's many similarities to their last release “Killin’ It,” it comes as no surprise that both tracks were directed by the same person, Shin Yuji. The video contains clean whip pans, many of which are motivated by the actions of the members. The visuals and effects never lose your attention, with the video’s upbeat nature that matches the song.
Loossemble’s “TTYL” has well-executed intense lighting that gives the video its dreamy feeling. The video is largely focused on the members, with a lot of close-up shots.
Honorable mentions:
“Go High” by SUPER JUNIOR-D&E
BEST MUSIC VIDEOS BY A SOLO ARTIST
The best storyline goes to YENA for “네모네모,” a video where she’s the only human in a world of people with boxes for heads, equating people to squares. The song’s name, “네모네모,” translates to squaresquare. The video game-esque graphics add an extra layer of childishness to this cute video.
Kang Daniel multiplies himself for his video “Electric Shock.” One version of him has the look of an established idol, while the other is just an average working man on the set of idol Kang Daniel’s music video. The average working man seems to have electricity in his body, causing him to get shocked and allowing him to send electricity through the set.
This collaboration between American rapper Megan Thee Stallion and BTS member RM created a new style in so many ways. The video mixes scenes of Megan playing pinball and an anime-style animation of the two rappers, bringing them together despite being in different countries. Together, they fight off villains in a battle that correlates with the pinball machine game.
