During his 639 days in the South Korean military as a public service worker, Wonho was eagerly waiting to reunite with his fans, WENEE. A month after his discharge, he announced his fan meetup tour WELCOME BACK WENEE. This six stop tour marks his first time meeting fans in America as a solo artist.

Originally set to be in New York City, Wonho’s New York stop was upgraded from the 650-capacity Racket NYC to the 1,800-capacity Brooklyn Steel. Despite the wind and cold in the Brooklyn streets, WENEE was in full force December 12 at Brooklyn Steel to support Wonho.

Wonho kicked off the show with an English version of his solo debut song “Open Mind” before performing “Ain’t About You.” Fans sang along as he performed his latest release, his first digital single, “What Would You Do.”

Wonho showed Brooklyn why he's the king of girl group dances during his dance cover medley. Alongside his four backup dancers Jung Yuno, Yeon Jongyoung, Jung Suyoung, and Jeong Taehee, Wonho performed “UP” by KARINA, “Maniac” by VIVIZ, “SHEESH” by BABYMONSTER, “Guilty” by TAEMIN, “Mantra” by Jennie, “Whiplash” by aespa, and “Sticky” by KISS OF LIFE. During the medley, he took off his shimmering jacket, revealing a tank top that showed off the idol's perfectly chiseled arms. The audience roared as WONHO lifted his shirt during “Guilty” and shook his booty dancing to “Sticky.”

After the medley, Wonho moved onto “I Just,” a slow and emotional track. He exited the stage as a VCR of him discussing his English release “What Would You Do” and his tour played. He wowed the crowd with his English skills that he worked on during his time away.

He performed “Come Over Tonight” and told us about all of the great food that he has eaten so far on tour, and what he hoped to eat in Brooklyn. He kept the crowd at bay ushering the overly excited fans to “relax” which seemed to be his favorite phrase that night.

After “On & On,” he announced that he had only two songs left: “With You” and “Lose.” Fans urged a heavy breathing Wonho to drink some water before continuing. Suyoung patted Wonho’s face dry and he thanked him with a “Thank you my boy.”

The crowd sang along to a lyric video of “Somebody” as Wonho and his crew changed into their tour shirts for the encore. He came back out for a five song encore, breaking down during his final song “WENEED” which is dedicated to his fans. Those in the crowd who finally got to see him in person after waiting for years were brought to tears as well. He wiped away his tears and in true Wonho fashion and ended the show by throwing his shirt into the crowd, showing off his amazing physique.

Thank you to Intertwine Music, Highline Entertainment, and of course to Wonho.
