BANG&JUNG&YOO&MOON Return With Holiday Album, Christmas With You
If you had told long-time BABYz that their favorite group, formerly known as B.A.P, BANG&JUNG&YOO&MOON, would be making a return in 2024, let alone releasing a Christmas album, they probably would not have believed you. But here we are, BJYM is back with a special album just in time for the holidays. Christmas With You will have you ready to cozy up with this sweet and wholesome release from Bang Yongguk, Jung Daehyun, Yoo Youngjae, and Moon Jongup.
Tracklist:
“Winter Magic”
Title: “Christmas With You”
“Snow”
“Christmas With You - Unplugged”
“Winter Magic - Instrumental”
“Christmas With You - Instrumental”
“Snow - Instrumental”
”Christmas With You”
If you are a fan of their previous release, “Coffee Shop,” BJYM’s “Christmas With You” will be right up your alley with its soft, jazzy style of music. This ballad is just the perfect Christmas song that will make you want to cozy up near a warm heat source, with a nice cup of hot chocolate by the Christmas tree, and be surrounded by loved ones. “Christmas With You” expresses being in love and spending Christmas with your lover. This sweet ballad makes you want to fall in love and hear all the members (yes, even Bang Yongguk, who is more known for his rapping genius) sing throughout the song, which just brings this sense of comfort.
The music video for the song does not feature the members themselves. Instead, it focuses on their mascot, Matoki characters, as they are hit with the gift of Christmas joy and celebration. This is also one of the rare times we get to see animated music videos featuring a group’s signature characters, and it’s just so refreshing and sweet to see. “Christmas With You” also shows how this group, which is a family, gathers together and celebrates Christmas to see how much this group will stick with each other till the very end. It also showcases their love for each other. Although we did not get a cameo appearance of their youngest member, Totomato, who represents Zelo (who is still currently in active service in the military), they alluded several times to staring up at the sky and galaxy and thinking of him as well.
As for the other songs on the album, “Winter Magic” and “Snow” are the more upbeat songs that also give off the Christmas vibe, like “Christmas With You.” As this is solely a Christmas album, they do well to stick to the vibe and theme. This is just a great switch-up for the group, and you cannot help but fall in love with BJYM as they continue to remind fans of new and old that they have not lost their touch. As their first-ever holiday album, BANG&JUNG&YOO&MOON does a stellar job, and I can see this album getting further played around the Christmas season for many more years to come.
